UNSW Hong Kong Foundation Ltd

The UNSW Hong Kong Foundation Ltd was incorporated in November 2005 as a joint initiative between UNSW and alumni in Hong Kong who wanted to give something back to the Hong Kong community and support the University. 

The Foundation is a registered charity and donations are tax deductible.

The key objectives of the UNSW Hong Kong Foundation are as follows:

  • Provide scholarships, grants and other funding and support for students, academics and researchers associated with Hong Kong to study at UNSW
  • Support and foster educational and research activities and links between Hong Kong and UNSW
  • Promote the advancement of education and higher education
  • Support the international activities and direction of the UNSW Foundation

The Foundation has provided  6 partial scholarships to Hong Kong students studying at UNSW. The scholarship is valued at $4,000 per annum for one year and given out to students who aspire to contribute to the betterment of society without regard to their own personal gain.  The criteria used to select recipients include academic merit, leadership ability, the contribution that the recipient will make to university life in particular the Hong Kong Alumni Association with preference being given to students who are facing financial hardship.
