Community fundraising means raising money with the help of volunteers. This can range from a variety of events like morning teas and bake sales to more structured efforts such as fun runs and marathons.

The most important asset in community fundraising is the community. Over the years, UNSW has greatly benefited from the generous support of the community at large with people donating their time, effort and money to various projects across the University. Giving to UNSW is about people - supporting researchers, providing opportunities for students and creating partnerships that positively impact our community and people's lives.

Taking part in community initiatives can provide a rich giving experience to fundraisers and donors. UNSW Foundation has partnered with Everyday Hero to help better coordinate our fundraising efforts and assist those who wish to fundraise on behalf of UNSW.

Community fundraising initiatives are thriving at UNSW where supporters are encouraged to set up their own fundraising pages (or contribute to those of others) using the university link to the Everyday Hero website (which provides a platform for donors to promote, manage and report their fundraising campaigns across online channels). Events like the City2Surf fun run, the Ride for Life cycle event and the Dry July challenge, now provide major fundraising opportunities through this technology.

Taking part in community initiatives can provide a rich giving experience to fundraisers and donors. UNSW uses Everyday Hero as its preferred Community Fundraising Platform, click on the button below to find out more.
